MASS MIGRATION (sculpture, dimensions 20″ x 30″ x 20″ approx)

A sculpture made of a paper map loosely draped over a round frame in which there was a speaker-magnet which emitted vibrating sine tones in moving in and out of harmony causing the amaranth seeds to bounce around in patterns. The paper map is a magnetic survey of a valley in Tenn. “Magnetic surveys record spatial variation in the Earth’s magnetic field and are used in archeological geophysics to detect and map artifacts and features.”-wiki
